en: facts first. so this is aargh’s entry to the contest, the topic was ‘make the rules’. only rules that one cannot disobey are the rules of nature. this is a painting of aargh interpretation of a spirit of nature, not a god or ruler, but keeper of the forest (森神). feel free to think of him as a totoro. the painting was done on A2 size natural plywood sheet with water based acrylic markers. the wood texture expresses the nature theme better than usual stretched canvas. only 3 hues were used, darkblue to represent indigo the color of raw denim and white+red which represent the colors of evisu selvedge. the painting was not coated and will age with it’s years, which is a reference to the way raw denim ages. it was printed out and displayed in the idea generation gallery in london during the evisu 20th anniversary party along with 19 other artworks from the competition and evisu commisioned artists including pete fowler, insa, jerremyville to mention few (what an honor!).

cz: nejdrive fakta. tak todle je soutezni obraz, tema bylo ‘nastavovat pravidla’. jedina pravidla ktera jsou pevne nastavena a nejde je obchazet jsou zakony prirody. toto je aargh interpretace spravce lesa, ne samozvaneho ale prirozene ustanoveho. predstavte si ho jako totora od aargh. obraz je namalovany na A2 preklizku akrylovymi fixy na vodni bazi, textura dreva vice podporuje prirodni tema nez bezne natazene platno. pouze tri barvy byly pouzity, tmave modra znazornujici indigo barvu nepraneho denimu, cervena a bila jsou tradicni barvy evisu selvedge. obraz nebyl lakovan takze bude starnout, blednout s nastupujicimi roky, coz je reference k tomu jak se dziny odiraji s nosenim. obraz byl vytisten a vystaven v idea generation gallery v londyne behem vyrocni evisu party spolu s dalsimi 19ti dily ze souteze a dily od autoru vybranych primo evisu a to pete fowler, insa, jerremyville a dalsi (jaka pocta!).

en: 22 individuals were briefed to recreate 20 iconic paintings by alfons mucha from the slav epic series to present new approach to the themes and contemporary club culture. all 20 artworks were exhibited on designblok2011 in the pepsi-refresh your world booth. aargh was one of them, check the result and making of pictures, yeah!

cz: 22 osobnostem bylo zadano predelat 20 legendarnich platen alfonse muchy z cyklu slovanska epopej. platna mela predstavit novy pristup k puvodnim tematum a soucasnou klubovou kulturu. vsech 20 del bylo vystaveno na designblok2011 v pepsi-refresh your world zone, mezi nimi bylo i aargh platno, podivej na vysledek a fotky z vyroby, jeah!

en: all the paintings from the series are presenting important moments from slavic history. printing of bible kralicka is the one to be remade by aargh. the painting represents important place in the history of education and christianity in bohemian countries. so the task was: what is so important for the club culture as a czech translated bible for czech people? the answer is event posters and flyers so the aargh version will present oversaturated version of how the posters are made in the aargh world.

cz: vsechny obrazy v cyklu slovanske epopeje zobrazuji dulezite momenty v historii slovanu. bratrska skola v ivancicich je nazev puvodniho obrazu ktery dostal novou aargh interpretaci. obraz znazornuje dulezite misto ve vzdelani a krestanske historii zemi ceskych. ukol byl: co je stejne vyznamne pro klubovou kulturu jako prvni preklad bible pro ceske lidi? odpoved znela plakaty a letaky na klubove eventy, takze aargh verze bude schema jak s velkou nadsazkou se plakaty vyrabeji v aargh svete.

en: yeah, zeah summertime is coming with the smell of spraypaint, eating out and burned necks. the weather was so good, that we decided to have a small (9 hours) waste-a-can session with junk+lndt at milovice. have a look at the attacked whole rooftop construction here. team hellzeah!

mu and du were hidden in the bushes looking through window of that family and watching cartoons on their abandoned tv when du felt asleep. now mu is taking his spirit sister sleeping. as you can see even spirits wear pyjamas:)

rooza is typical harajuku station snap shot allstar. today she is in her gothic uniform.

vicious villian trikky is armed to the teeth, wearing the guy flawkes mask if he wants to put the v in vicious and hide his kawaii face (kukuč). in tigercamo his karate gimmicks are even more unpredictable. watch out big brother, watch out!

wearing the colours of popular japanse productivity doll mashed up with a bit of streetsteez and white lens.

foomi with a special robotic arm extention made for tug of war contests and arm wrestling tournaments (not to win a truck). you better not challenge him.

怪獣クラッカ(kaijukracka) is a good example that crushing skyscrapers with your teeth is not really good for them. currently retired from the city attacks spending a lot of time in spas. hold on, there is someone in the costume! seems like this case is solved scoobydoo style.

◖◖ LATEST UPDATE: 30th april 2011 / 3:20 CET ◗◗

the kidrobot‘s munnyworld mega contest (MWMC) just started. you can pick any of the seven munnyworld figures to customize and battle for tha champion’s belt. this is the aargh production log in the challenge of customizing them all in one month (zes, 7 figures in 31days). in case i did not make it consider this an april fool post. follow this post for plenty updates. time for the figures to meet the knives:D

30-04-2011/3:20 ➜ yes! mission accomplished. i have just finished the whole munnyworld set for the contest. have a look at the munny. now take fancy pictures and submit them. thank you for a month of your support and staying tuned. now i need a bit lot luck. it was fun anyway.

28-04-2011/7:44 ➜ this update is a bit of reuters silent/no comment report. being in a bit of a rush i forgot to take work in progress pictures and focused on finishing raffy rider. have a look and it’s just MUNNY to go zeah!

28-04-2011/7:47 ➜ that was a short night:D anyway two customs to go and two days till the deadline, which seems achievable. let’s wait and see. here we have the kaiju kracka (怪獣クラッカ), good example that eating skyscrapers is not really good for your teeth, oh wait there is someone in the costume, scoobydoo style:D and here we have foomi with robotic arm expansion, tug of war anyone? you better not.

26-04-2011/8:21 ➜ captain’s log number 0731. aargh is ready to submit two toys now! the rooz is finished and waiting for the shooting on friday.

there is foomi and trikky on the workbench right now, hopefully they are both finished by today.

22-04-2011/6:47 ➜ the priming did not go very good. trikky’s hand felt down one story to terrace of abandoned flat. macgyver style i ducktaped telescopic painting pole with broom with swop creating ultra long tool and managed to get the hand back. too bad i was that stressed i did not take any pictures of it.

the other day i started painting. bub came first along with using the remaining paint on rooz. bub is known as ‘da ruman’ since yesterday. named after popular wishing doll, will remain one-eyed. yes, he is ready so if everything goes wrong i can submit one toy:)

six still to go. and time is up.

17-04-2011/10:15 ➜ the bub is now all sculpted and finetuned, in the end of the day and some freestyle sculpting i have finally found a theme for him during cleaning the lab:) sometimes you have to do something else to find a solution. just bub’s head was cut in the half and made into a cap. if i have some time left i will accessorize him as well (if you have any recomendations for bub’s accessory comment this post with suggestions).

picked the colours and tomorow it’s shopping time again:D enjoy the sun today!

14-04-2011/9:22 ➜ in the end i found out that foomi and bub are going to be the hardest to customize, maybe it’s the fact that they are the last ones now. first of all i weighted the munny with stabilizing lead and compared it to boxfresh munny (on the right). have a look.

i was not really a fan of foomi’s shapes, except for the hair. i started with the ears, from my point of view they are way too big and they are missing the hair’s blast dynamics. so i made them smaller and added sort of elven tips to them (note to myself: try this with munny too). step 2, the body is very small compared to the head: cut the belly in half and put some sculpey in between, remove the tail (looks like from different toy). step 3: customize. so there is new robotic support hand, buckle in the front and set of pockets in the back. also the head was modified to have more hair detail in the fron with a headband.

the foomi is finetuned and waiting for painting in his box. now th remaining sculpting of bub. next time there will be more pictures less words, promise.

11-04-2011/9:56 ➜ the almost finished scuplt of munny lacked some weight to be able to stand up while carring the dunny backpack. so almost 140g of lead was put in his legs and sealed to make him stand. back in the day one i cut away the rooz’s head so it’s just half used. the second half was transformed into a hill:) (not going to take part in the contest)

also the customization and finetuning took place during the weekend, so let me introduce to you, as previously mentioned, the vicious villian trikky. armed to the teeth with his guy fawkes mask (silly karate gimmics as well) explains his mission a lot. weapon carring straps will be added after the painting.

06-04-2011/20:39 ➜ so the raffy rider has shiny new screws and has been finetuned, so folki put the rim on and it’s time to let raffy rest in the box with munny and rooz. meanwhile kracka was having hard time in the owen with fitting the dental retainers, but hey who likes to visit a dentist?

what’s up next? finetune kracka, start with the vicious villian trikky, stay tuned, aargh out.

05-04-2011/9:11 ➜ bad news for the munnyworld contest, good news for my xboxlive account. ubisoft mail with explanation on how to fix the davinci disappearance dlc came yesterday so a decent part of the day was spent earning 150G yesterday (if you are on live add aarghdanii), anyway back to the topic: kracka was on the table yesterday along with trikky. kracka is got his mounth wide open and trikky spent some time in the oven to get his facemask wellness care. also gnash was hanging around and tried on the kracka head:D

back to business now.

04-04-2011/8:21 ➜ 7 toys in 31 days, that is 1 toy in 4days 9 hours and some minutes. easy maths, uneasy task but it seems there are some entries in the contest already so i have to stand strong.

anyway this is recap of day 3, most of the time was spent with sculpting the raffy and finetuning of the rooz legs.  raffy is no longer a giraffe but a wheeled unicorn ~ raffy rider:D i need some screws for raff rider’s wheels, the shopping list is starting to fill up.

today: finetune raffy, pick up new sculpey, begin with new munnyworld. HELLZEAH!

03-04-2011/8:37 ➜ hello sunday, good bye saturday, the day two.

the munny seemed a bit more finished on friday night than saturday morning (damn pixies!). so the day two was dedicated to fine tuning and surfacing the sculpts. so munny or better say dunny got a necklace and many hours were spent on creating boots and legs for the rooz, copred to the legs the handbag was a piece of cake.

when the boxes arrived i thought that raffy and kracka are the least inspiring. i am not fan of raffy’s long neck so getting rid of that was first raffy step.

so, day 3 will be the day of raffy. work work work work work.

02-04-2011/8:16 ➜ good morning day two. yesterday, i picked munny and rooz as the first two to taste my dremel, cutters, sculpey and the owen.

the 7 toys generated plenty of accessories but only thing i am going to use is the rooz backpack for the munny. also two labbits and one dunny were used for the munny custom and it seems i will need some lead pieces to put in his feet to make him stand. i had to move munnys head pivot a bit towards so there is enough space for the dunny. the sculpt is ready in the end of day except for the weights.

in the meantime the rooz was cutted and sculpted. i removed a lot of vinyl and modified rooz a lot (too bad there is no ‘looks least like a rooz’ category this year).

it’s time for some offline work to do – hardest part of the rooz should be finished by today so it’s time to switch to cyborg mode. anyway there are two more images attached, one showing the first owen hatch and second is the last image taken yesterday. cya with next update!
